Summary for chapters 1 & 2
Chapter 1
The narrator begins by telling us of her brother's injured arm and her family history. Her mother passed away when she was two years old. She has an older brother named Jem and her father is a lawyer.
Their neighbour's nephew has come to stay for the summer. They spend their summer by playing together and also talking about Boo Radley's house. Dill challenges Jem to touch the Radley house which Jem did it after being pressured by Dill.

Chapter 2
When fall came, Dill went back to his home while scout is about to start her first year in school. Scout's teacher which is Miss Fisher was not please with the fact that she could read well and had asked her father to stop teaching her at home as she believes that children should be taught by the school's method.
Soon after, Scout had some conflicts with the Cunningham's and Miss Fisher which lead Scout into more trouble with Miss Fisher.
