There has been a mistake in one or two of the posts. Scout is actually a girl, but behaves like a boy. The conclusion is that she is a tom-boy.
They have been a few posts where I talked about gender conflict. Scout is a girl but there are some ways in which she behaves that makes her seem like a boy. One example is when she beat up Dill twice (chapter 5) and said it was a pain to be called a girl. Also, therea re cases where Jem tells Scout that she is becoming more and more like a girl each day, but isn't she already one? There has been a little confusion, but one thing clear is that there is racism and also gender conflict in the story.
